In Canberra, Australia, four mice – Harry, Curly, Bunsen and Chopstick – are being trained to surf. Before hitting the waves on their mouse-size surfboards, the trio underwent weeks of rigorous training in the bathtub of their owner, Shane Willmott. Prior to being dropped into the ocean, Chopstick, who is a white mouse, had his fur dyed green so as not to blend in with the foaming surf.
When not surfing, the mice lead lives of relative luxury in sprawling wooden villas. Willmott built these extravagant dwellings himself. He says that teaching mice to surf had been his childhood dream.
